Welcome back to my blog post #13! In this blog post, I am using an "X-ray" process, so I can see the "bones" of my research project argument. At this point, my research project is still a work-in-progress. Thus, this post serves as a part of my revision process. 1. My thesis statement is: Instagram represents an American zeitgeist now and the future because it has a strong relationship to a mental health for teenager. 2. My first supporting point that argues the how or why pf my zeitgeist is: The first reason why many SNS especially Instagram users have mental health problems is their low self-esteem.
3. My second supporting point that argues the how or why pf my zeitgeist is: FOMO (fear of missing out) is the other cause of young Instagram users’ mental health problems.
4. My third supporting point that argues the how or why pf my zeitgeist is: Bullying is the other cause of teen Instagram users’ mental health problems.
5. My counter-argument and rebuttal is: Of course, I know some people will disagree with my opinion and tell me several advantages of Instagram. For example, Instagram is good for business or building one’s network. However, social networking service particularly Instagram is too early for young children. They should learn about the fear of internet and how to protect their personal information. This is because once they post their selfie or pictures including personal information on the internet, they stay forever as a digital tattoo. At the worst case, it eliminates a possibility of their future. For instance, some teenagers lost their jobs and future because of their thoughtless Instagram posts. 6. My prediction is: Even if technology keeps developing quickly, the number of people who have mental health problems will not decrease.
7. My conclusion revisits the thesis statement and makes (a call to action). 8. "X-ray" summary: I think that I need to find other source for my prediction. This is because I am not a professional of technology, so I should use a professional research or statement.

Hi Yuki. I like your rebuttal about Instagram being bad for teenagers mental health. It's so true that there is a digital tattoo of everything we post online.

Hi Yuki, I'm interested in knowing more about your prediction. From me personally, I feel like media would be the way to help combat mental health if used right. Other than that, I really enjoyed your post!

In your first point, you mentioned self-steem as a problem and I really think that an important one. Today people in to deep trying to cover the perfect body, the perfect face stereotype. All that is because we look pictures like that in the internet and thing that is real, but it is not.
